Electrical Engineering
Oztek has built its business on the fundamentals of electrical engineering. We understand that the products we design need to be manufactured and tested, so we employ DFM/DFT best practices throughout the design process.
For systems with embedded software, we routinely use diagnostic code to ensure that all systems are performing to specifications. You can be certain that everything we design will perform as well in the real world as it does in the lab.
To compete in the marketplace, your products must exploit technology in a way that meets your goals. Our expertise in these key electrical engineering disciplines enables you to do just that:
Analog Design
A digital control system is only as good as the signals it works with. Oztek engineers design precision circuitry to process system signals into usable parameters for control and instrumentation.
To meet our customers’ most demanding needs, Oztek is proficient in designing low-noise precision analog instrumentation to extract maximum performance from modern high-resolution data converters.
Digital Design
Digital control techniques enable products to be easily and consistently manufactured, as well as allow a product to maintain its performance characteristics more precisely throughout its life.
Depending on the system architecture, digital control can be implemented using devices ranging from 8-bit microcontrollers to 32-bit Digital Signal Processors. Solutions requiring high-speed system-on-a-chip-level integration often utilize high gate-count FPGAs. Our FPGA design methodology includes industry standard hardware description languages, such as VHDL and Verilog, industry standard synthesis tools, and verification test-benching environments. Oztek regularly works with microcontrollers from Microchip and TI, DSPs from TI, and programmable logic solutions from Lattice and Xilink. We have expertise with a variety of digital communication protocols including RS232, RS485, RS422 and CAN BUS.
Power Design
For optimal system performance, efficiency and reliability, power circuitry must be designed properly from the board to system level. Oztek regards power design as a specialized discipline that requires particular attention. In addition to the power topology itself, a thorough understanding of circuit-level parasitics is necessary to ensure a successful design.
Our expertise ranges from small bias regulators and offline supplies to high powered DC/DC converters and three-phase bridge design for systems of 100 kW or more. We also have intimate knowledge of gate driver design for efficient and reliable operation of MOSFETs and IGBTs.
