The OZDSP3000 is the state of the art, floating point DSP based inverter controller designed for applications requiring a single board solution to control up to two, three phase inverters. Based on the TMS320F28335 device, the OZDSP3000 brings floating-point processing to performance-hungry real-time power control applications. The TMS320F28335 is a member of Texas Instruments TMS320C28x™/ Delfino™ DSC/MCU generation, the industry’s first floating point digital signal controllers targeted at highly integrated, high-performance and demanding control applications. The ‘28335 device provides 150MHz operation and includes a IEEE-754 Single-Precision Floating-Point Unit (FPU), and a six channel DMA controller for on board peripherals and memory.
The ‘F28335 floating-point controller can increase performance by an average of 50 percent over TI's previous leading digital signal controllers while operating at the same 150 MHz clock rate. Some algorithms, such as a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), will see a 200 percent improvement over an equivalent 32-bit fixed-point implementation. In addition, embedded software development in floating-point arithmetic eliminates the need to convert from floating point to fixed point, saving weeks or months of development time and eliminating the required modifications to scaling, saturation and adjustment of numerical resolution.
As with all Oztek Control Boards, the hardware is designed to provide a glueless interface to Semikron integrated power modules. Complete hardware driver libraries, an example Test Application, and full documentation speed user code development. The board has been specifically designed for grid tie inverter and motor control applications and can be used as a single board control solution for a regenerative drive complete with an integrated active front end.
